Bavarian Inn Honored by Michigan Chapter of Meeting Professionals International
For Social Responsibility Efforts
Frankenmuth, Mich., June 20, 2013 – Bavarian Inn Lodge and Bavarian Inn Restaurant in Frankenmuth were honored with the “Finest Corporate Social Responsibility Effort” award by the Michigan Chapter of Meeting Professionals (MMPI). The award recognizes the organization that “has incorporated successful sustainability practices, including, but not limited to, fundraising, giving back to the host communities and green meeting practices.”
“I am honored that our organization received this award and consider it recognition of my entire family and our team members,” said Judy Zehnder Keller, third generation owner, as well as president and founder of the Lodge. “We are passionate about serving the Frankenmuth community, giving back to those in need and making every effort to preserve the environment. Receiving acknowledgement for our efforts in these areas is truly a tribute to us all.”
“This award is based on what our entire company is doing to give back to the community and our efforts in green practices. The massive quantities of Michigan produced products we use, our recycling programs, energy saving efforts, charitable giving programs and the biodiesel shuttle that will run on fuel processed from our own recycled cooking oil were all mentioned when the award was presented. We are very proud of this recognition,” said Bill Zehnder, third generation owner and current Restaurant president.
Bethany Curtis, Bavarian Inn Lodge Director of Sales was also presented with the President’s award. Curtis, who has served on the MMPI board for two years, was recognized for assisting MMPI’s current President Deborah Denyer in making sound decisions for the chapter, as well as having a great knowledge of its working budget and strategic planning.
Both awards were presented at MMPI’s annual awards gala held on June 17, 2013 at Andiamo in Novi.
