Current Openings for the Bavarian Inn Lodge
BARTENDERS: Responsible for the preparation, serving and beverages at the Bar or served in the Dining Room; maintains stock in the Bar Area; maintains cleanliness of the Bar Area; responsible for the billing and collecting of all food and beverage served in the Dining Room, Bar and Banquet Areas; responsible for the security of all cash and checks; responsible for the security of all beverage items; maintains superior guest service and quality food and beverage items in the Bar.
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS: Must be 18 years of age. High School diploma or equivalent. Minimum 3 months learning period in position to become familiar with wine stock, beer stock and cocktail ingredients. Pleasing personality and personal appearance. Ability to stand for long lengths of time. Good math skills. (10-28 hours per week, including weekends and holidays.)
PART TIME FRONT DESK CLERK: This is a progressive position, which means you will move through different training levels. The first level begins with answering telephone calls with warmth and friendliness – Hotel Operator. The second level is responsible for taking reservations for overnight accommodations – Reservationist. The last level works at the Front Desk checking guests in or out and collecting payment – Front Desk Clerk.
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS: High School diploma or equivalent. Must be 18 yrs old. Background in dealing with the public, diplomacy and tactfulness. Pleasing personality and appearance. Ability to get along with people in a variety of situations. Ability to organize work, good judgment, honesty, and dependability. Proficient in computer programs necessary in an office environment. Basic arithmetic and typing skills, knowledge of area attractions. (20 – 28 hours per week, includes weekends and holidays).

FGI GIFT SHOP CLERK: Assists customers in their purchases and ringing up sales. Assists in stocking the store by unpacking, pricing, and displaying. Maintains a neat work area.
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS: Must be 18 years of age, (beer and wine sales), neat appearance, friendly disposition, basic arithmetic skills, ability to stand for long periods of time and lift moderate weights. (20 – 28 hour per week) Must be available for morning and evening shifts. Weekdays, weekends, and some holidays.
CHEESE HAUS ASST MANAGER FULL TIME: Oversees all functions of the store operation as delegated by the General Manager. Responsible for financials, public relations, sales, merchandising, property maintenance and computer functions in the absence of the store manager. Responsible for personnel supervision, training and documentation of performance. Performs administrative duties and enforces Frankenmuth Gift Shop, Inc. company policies. Responsible for controlling expenses to obtain a profit in the absence of the store manager.
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS: Bachelor’s degree OR minimum of 2-years management experience in the Hospitality industry. Excellent communication skills both verbal and written, good math skills. Computer literate in order to obtain reports and input merchandise and maximize sales. Understands how inventory affects sales and cost of goods. Ability to recognize items that can be promoted and display them attractively and effectively. Ability to stand long periods of time, walk, lift moderate weights. (37 – 45 hours per week)
WAITER/WAITRESS: Responsible for dining room set up and general cleaning of dining room, set up meeting rooms and general cleaning of meeting rooms, serving of food, beverages including alcoholic beverages, collect money from guests, clear tables and reset.
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS: Must be 18 years of age or older. Pleasing personality and appearance. Ability to stand and walk continually. Ability to lift trays and other containers of moderate weights. Ability to work different schedules and attend meetings. (Part time, 20 – 30 hours per week, includes weekends and holidays.)
EXECUTIVE HOUSEKEEPER:
We’re looking for a leader with hotel housekeeping experience who thinks ahead, plans and works to see that what’s under their control is managed effectively, according to standards and with a sense of urgency.
QUALIFICATIONS: Must have previous managerial experience in the housekeeping field. You’re a person who can work in a very team oriented environment, but make sure that things are done the way they’re supposed to be done. You think ahead and can communicate to customers and staff.
HOUSEKEEPER: Cleans and maintains guest rooms and other public areas to prepare for occupancy and use.
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS: Ability to be on feet for a continuous length of time, bend, reach, stretch and lift. Ability to climb ladders. Knowledge of area and local attractions. (Part time, 20 – 25 hours per week, includes weekends and holidays).
KITCHEN SUPERVISOR: Responsible for the daily operations of the kitchen including food preparation for the Dining Room, Brunch, Banquets and Room Service; maintains the food quality of all food items and the sanitation of food and food preparation/ware washing/storage areas; supervises and trains cook and dish employees and keeps training materials and records up-to-date; receives stock and stores it properly; coordinates set up and service of banquets; maintains food and labor costs; works all positions within the department as needed; maintains the operation of equipment; helps schedule employees; assists with product development.
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS: Graduate with a Restaurant Food service degree or minimum of 2 years of management experience in a high production kitchen that included food costing, menu development and training. Must have the ability to train and motivate staff to include writing job descriptions, manuals and documentation of performance. Physical ability to work long hours, stand and lift items within the kitchen. Must know how to use technology effectively to utilize the software available to maintain records and run reports – Excel, Word, Digital Dining, Attendance Enterprise, digital programming of equipment, etc... Good verbal and written communication skills to include writing reports and performance evaluations with good spelling, punctuation and sentence structure. Must have good food knowledge to include breaking down recipes and use all equipment.
PERKS CLUB COORDINATOR: Responsible for performing support duties for the Loyalty/Retail Manager in the execution of his/her management and marketing responsibilities; responsible for the promotion and administration of the Perks Club; member sign up and maintenance of accrued points; marketing duties as they relate to promotion of Perks Club; software technical support; maintains high level of quality and confidentiality; exhibits leadership ability and performs assigned duties in a professional manner.
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS: High school diploma or equivalent. Must be 18 years of age. Two years of continued education or equivalent. Minimum two (2) years experience in related office positions. Proficient in basic word processing, spreadsheet and data base software applications. Continues to further education by seminars, tapes and classes. (Part time position, 32 – 37 hours per week)
PART TIME HOST/HOSTESS: Performs the duties of Host/Hostess in the Dining Room or Lounge. Responsible for directing and supervising the operation of personnel, assuring that ideal environment is maintained. Responsible for the cleaning activities performed in the opening/closing of the Dining Room. Insures satisfaction of guest service through the wait staff and food quality. Promotes promptness in serving the guest and making available proper seating arrangements. Checks for accuracy of customer counts according to procedures set up by the Food and Beverage Department. Will receive additional training as a server.
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS: Must be minimum of 18 years old. High school diploma or equivalent. Minimum of one year experience as Host/Hostess or related food experience. Pleasing personality, well-groomed and neat appearance. Ability to resolve service problems on own initiative. Good interpersonal communication skills. (12-28 hours per week, including weekends and holidays.)
OFFICE ASSISTANT/MONEY COUNTER: Under the supervision of the Accountant, the work performed pertains to the accounting environment, secretarial work, and other duties as well authorized.
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS: Computer experience. Must be proficient in Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Word. Typing skills required. Capable of operating a ten-key calculator and calculator. (20 – 28 hours per week.)
