The Frankenmuth River Place Shops and Bavarian Inn Lodge are proud to host the 2nd Annual American Heritage and Heroics Festival on Saturday June 23rd and Sunday June 24th, 2012. Experience an encampment of historical reenactors representing the many eras of America’s history. Visit and tour military camps ranging from the Revolutionary War through the Vietnam Conflict eras. Activities such as Period Concerts, Fashion Shows, Battle Skirmishes, Artillery & Weapons Demonstrations, and Cannon Firings will take place throughout the Frankenmuth River Place Shops property. Get an up close look at clothing styles from the various eras, WWII Vehicles, and Civil War Cannons.
This FREE family event will run from 10:00 am to 6:00 pm on Saturday and from 10:00 am to 4:00 pm on Sunday. All ages are welcome. Plenty of parking is available at the Frankenmuth River Place Shops – handicap parking available. Over 300 Historical Reenactors from the National Society of Living Historians (NSLH) will be on site to pay tribute to the American heritage of the 18th, 19th, and 20th century. The NSLH is a non-profit organization that uses its funds to help with preservation projects, purchase equipment for state boards and units, and eventually will provide at least one annual scholarship.
