Bavarian Inn COVID-19 Statement

On behalf of the Bavarian Inn Zehnder family, we assure you that in times of uncertainty, the safety and well-being of our guests and team members remain our highest priority. We have been daily monitoring the coronavirus (COVID-19) situation, keeping those who are a­ffected in our hearts. We are supporting the Federal & State authorities in the continued closure of our facilities through May 28th and will follow any future guidelines. This includes in-house dining at Bavarian Inn Restaurant, Bavarian Inn Lodge, all shops located inside Frankenmuth River Place Shops, the Covered Bridge Gift Shop and Frank’s Muth Shop, though some are available for online ordering and curbside pick-up. Please check the individual stores website or Facebook page for more information. The Frankenmuth Cheese Haus is open for business. Beginning Thursday, May 21, the Bavarian Inn Restaurant is open for takeout and also bakery purchases in the lower level Castle Shops. The Bavarian Inn Lodge Reservation department will automatically cancel all reservations through May 28th and work on refunds of advance deposits. Due to high volumes, refunds could take 7-10 business days to process.

As we are able to ease restrictions and safely welcome back guests to Bavarian Inn properties, please remember to stay home if anyone in your party is not feeling well. Continue to follow C.D.C. procedures on washing hands with soap and water (for at least 20 seconds) & avoiding face contact. If anyone traveling in your party feels any flu type symptoms while visiting a destination, please alert a manager while on-site.

In addition to our current strict cleaning procedures, we will complete a thorough deep cleaning and sanitizing of all guestrooms, dining rooms, shops and other public areas, prior to opening. The frequent deep cleaning of “high touch” public areas will continue to be practiced. We will also have additional hand sanitizing stations available to our guests.

In regards to our Food and Beverage outlets, all restaurant and bar management are ServSafe certified (accreditation for safe-food and beverage preparation and handling). Increased sanitizing in all food and beverage locations will be implemented by serving staff (including but not limited to tables, chairs, condiments, and menus).

According to the C.D.C., “There is no evidence that COVID-19 can be spread to humans through the use of pools and hot tubs. Proper operation, maintenance, and disinfection (with chlorine and bromine) of pools and hot tubs should remove or inactivate the virus that causes COVID-19”. Currently, The Department of Health has not issued any additional recommendations or guidelines other than the standard hygiene and cleanliness protocol currently implemented within our water play areas. As required, weekly pool water samples are submitted to the Saginaw County Health Department by our Certified Pool Operators on staff.

If your party prefers to postpone your visit, we welcome you to reschedule your reservation. Our team will work with you to find an available date and apply your advanced deposit to the new reservation (please note rates may vary based on day of week and specific date you request). If you decide that you would like to cancel your stay for June or July, we will provide a refund on your advanced deposit with no penalty up until 72 hours prior to reservation arrival date. If cancellation occurs in under 72 hours prior to your stay, the standard $25 cancellation fee will apply during these months.

For any stays after August 1 through September 30, we are happy to provide you with a Bavarian Inn Lodge gift card in the amount of your advanced deposits to use at a future time. Our standard 72 hours cancellation notice applies. Any reservations after October 1, will following our current cancellation policies.
