Volksläufe (The People’s Race) & Fireworks

When: July 3 from 6 p.m. – 10 p.m. & July 4 from 7 a.m. to 12 p.m.

Where: Heritage Park on Weiss Street

Cost: Registration fee (Registration ends July 1, 2019 at 11:59 p.m. EDT)

The Frankenmuth Jaycees are hosting their annual Independence Day races! Festivities kick off on July 3 with food, entertainment, and a Fireworks display. Then races are held on July 4. Volksläufe, German for “The People’s Race,” is held annually in celebration of family, friendship, and fitness! The race’s certified 5k, 10k, and 20k courses begin and end in beautiful Heritage Park. The scenic routes wind runners around historic Frankenmuth, over the famed Holz Brucke wooden bridge and Cass River. For our younger race enthusiasts, there is also a family themed 2k Fun Run!

Friday Fun Nights

Every Friday, Memorial Day to Labor Day (May 24 – August 30), Main Street comes alive with live music and street performers. Discover talented musicians from around the state as well as some local favorites. Face painting, balloon twisting and magicians, oh my! The lineup changes weekly, so be sure to check myfrankenmuth.org for what fun awaits along Main Street. Entertainment is free, but if you happen upon an act you enjoy, consider throwing them a few bucks to keep them coming back!

Concerts in the Park – “CCR Tribute”

When: Saturdays: May 18 – Oct 19, 8 a.m. – 2 p.m. & Wednesdays: Jun 19 – Aug 28, 3 p.m. – 6 p.m.

Where:  Palmer Schau Platz in Memorial Park

Frankenmuth’s Funtown Chowdown – 3rd Annual Food Truck Festival

When: July 11 from 3 – 9 p.m. & August 8 from 3 – 9 p.m.

Where: Frankenmuth River Place Shops

Cost: Free to attend

This year each festival will feature around 20 food trucks, large tent with seating for over 1,000 with a designated handicap parking area, the ever-popular children’s play village, and additional activities for families.

Along with mouthwatering food options and fun family activities, we will also be hosting The Battle of the Breweries. This event will feature tap takeovers with two different craft breweries battling to be voted the best craft brewery of the festival! The winner will be invited back to the following festival to defend its title as victor.

Warrior Appreciation Rally

When: July 14 from 12 p.m. – 4 p.m.

Where: Independence Village of Frankenmuth – 255 Mayer Road

Cost: Free to attend

This is the 6th Annual family-friendly day to honor our heroes – Active, Discharged, or Retired, Military, Police, EMS or Firemen. Join us for a carnival style event offering a hot dog lunch for all heroes and their families. Enjoy music, entertainment, activities, displays, and games for all ages including military resource booths.

Want to support the event? Bring a non-perishable item for the “I Support the 1%” Food Pantry of Saginaw County serving military personnel and their families. T-Shirts will also be available for a donation of $10. All proceeds will directly benefit the event or the food pantry.

Harvest’s Free Friday Lawn Chair Movie Night: How to Train Your Dragon – The Hidden World

When: July 19 at 9 p.m.

Where:  Harvest Coffeehouse Parking Lot – 626 South Main Street

Cost: Free to attend

Bring your lawn chair, your friends and family for a free movie under the start in the parking lot of Harvest Coffeehouse. Movies are projected on a screen at the side of the building. Pre-movie music is provided by E&J Entertainment. Popcorn is sponsored by Integrity Financial Planning. All movies are generously sponsored by Schaefer & Bierlein. Movies start at dusk.

Cass River Colonial Encampment

When: July 20 from 9 a.m. – 6 p.m. & July 21 from 9 a.m. – 4 p.m.

Where: Frankenmuth River Place Shops

Experience an 18th century encampment of historical reenactors representing British, French and Americans. Visit and tour military camps and shop at historical vendors. Events: Tactical Battle Reenactments, Flag Raising, Musket Firing, Period Concerts & Games, Fashion Show and more.

S&B Jeep Fest 2019

When: July 20 from 9:30 a.m. – 4 p.m.

Where: Harvey Kern Community Pavilion

Cost: $30

S&B Jeep Fest celebrates all things Jeep. S&B Jeep trail is open at Schaefer & Bierlein again, and bringing mud back this year!

Register your Jeep and you’ll get reserved parking at the event, access to all of the Jeep obstacles and activities. You’ll also get the official Jeep Fest 2019 t-shirt, and a $5 coupon for an additional shirt, which will be available at the Schaefer & Bierlien vendor booth in the pavilion. (1 Registration per Jeep, not per person in the Jeep. That means bring your friends and family!) Each Registered Jeep will also get an official event sticker.

Food this year will be provided by our S&B Food Truck Rally on the south lawn of the pavilion. We’ll announce our food truck selection closer to the time of the event.

Antique Fire Muster

When: July 27 from 8 a.m. – 12 p.m.

Where: Heritage Park on Weiss Street

Cost: Free to Attend

Antique fire truck displays and pumping events. Parade through downtown Saturday morning at 11 a.m.

Frankenmuth Flower Festival

When: August 2 & 3

August 2nd & 3rd kicks off the height of Frankenmuth’s floral season! Enjoy the breathtaking beauty of the town’s displays along with a list of events including a Sunflower U-Pick and Sunflower Fun Color Run at Grandpa Tiny’s Farm, a Garden Tour kicking off at the Frankenmuth Farmers Market, ‘Flour’ Bake Sale at Frankenmuth Historical Museum, the Michigan Honey Festival and free entertainment on the sidewalks Friday night downtown!

Tri-Bavaria

The city of Frankenmuth and the Bavarian Inn welcome the TRI BAVARIA Weekend. A jam-packed weekend full of fun, fitness and a test of one’s fitness level. A weekend with something for everyone starting with the little Bavaria kids’ triathlon on Saturday morning. Followed with the adult races on Sunday. The setting could not be more spectacular with a swim in the river followed by a flat bike through the farm lands and ending with a run through all the sites in and around Frankenmuth with a straight shot to the finish line where your finisher medal and Bavarian party awaits.

Michigan Honey Festival

When: August 3 from 9 a.m. – 5 p.m.

Where: Harvey Kern Pavilion in Heritage Park

Cost: Admission $5, 12 and under free

Our purpose as a nonprofit organization will be to educate the public about the role that the honeybee plays in our own existence. Through educational programs made available to the general public with emphasis on starting at the elementary level and working with any & all educational institutions to help advance their programs that work within our mission. Offering seminars, hands on demonstrations, open forum through electronic media, beekeeping clubs, & a yearly Honey Festival within the State of Michigan.

Frankenmuth’s 32nd Summer Music Fest offers a wide variety of acts for the music lover in you. Whether you take in a polka act whose German and Polish tunes invoke the rich traditions of Eastern European culture, or a vintage rock act that will keep you spinning freely into the night like you did during the “Summer of Love,” you’re sure to be immersed in the tradition and nostalgia this year’s entertainers provide.

Frankenmuth Fondo Cycle Ride

When: August 10 from 7 a.m. – 3 p.m.

Where: Frankenmuth River Place Shops

Cost: Registration Fees Vary

Take part in a competitive or casual bike ride as part of the Frankenmuth Fondo event, happening August 10, 2019. Choose a 100k or 50k competitive timed route – or choose to casually ride either the 100k, 50k or 25k course. A short kid’s ride will also be available at 1:00 p.m. All distances are approximate. Routes will be well marked with large route markers. Final routes and maps will be distributed the morning of the ride.
